Statement of Belief

We believe that the Scriptures are inspired by God

We believe that the Scriptures are inspired by God, are without error in the original writings, centered on the Lord Jesus Christ, and are the whole authority in matters of doctrine and conduct for the believer.
(2Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Tim. 2:15; Heb. 4:12; 2 Pet. 1:20; Luke 24:27; John 17:17).

We believe in the bodily resurrection to an eternal state of glory in Heaven in the presence of God for believers, and eternal punishment in the lake of fire apart from god for the unbeliever. (Rom. 8:10-15; 1 Thess. 4:16-17; 1 Cor. 15:20-23, 51-55; John 3:15-16, Rev. 21:3-4; Rev. 20:5-6, 11-15).

We believe in the "Great Commission" to make disciples of all nations by evangelizing, baptizing, and teaching. (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:45-49; Acts 1:8).

We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to meet His  church in the air, and later to the earth to establish His Kingdom. (1Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:4-6, 21:1-8).

We believe in One Sovereign God who exists in three persons

We believe in One Sovereign God who exists in three persons: God the Father (Eph. 1:2-3, God the Son (Heb 1:8;  Rom. 1:8), and God the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Cor. 6:11).

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ who took on the likeness of man through the virgin birth, physically died, and was bodily resurrected and ascended to Heaven, and is coming again.

(John 1:1-4; 10:30; Phil.2:5-8; John 19:32-34; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Col. 1:16-17; Acts 1:11; 1 John 2:28).

We believe that Christlikeness characterizes the life of the mature believer

We believe that Christlikeness characterizes the life of the mature believer. (Phil. 3:10, 4:4-9, 13; Col. 1:23, 2:6-7, 3:1; Gal. 5:22-26; Heb. 13:20-21; 2 Pet. 1:3-8; Jas. 1:22).

We believe in one true church, the body of Christ

We believe in one true church, the body of Christ, consisting of all believers; and the local church, a group of believers committed to meeting together for worship, prayer, Bible study, fellowship and observance of the ordinances (baptism/Lord's Table). (Acts 2:41-44; Eph. 4:11-12; Rom. 12:4-5; Heb. 10:24-25; Matt. 28:19-20; 1 Cor.11:23 ff).

We believe that all men are sinners and apart from God's grace are in a hopeless condition

We believe that all men are sinners and apart from God's grace are in a hopeless condition separated from God. (Rom. 3:10-12, 23; 1 John 1:7-8; Eph. 2:1-3; Rom. 6:23; John 3:36; 1 Thess. 4:13).

We believe in the power of Christ's blood to cleanse form sin

We believe in the power of Christ's blood to cleanse form sin "all who come to God by Him." (Col. 1:14, 20; 1 John 1:9, 2:2; Rom 3:21-26; 1 Pet. 1:18-21; Heb. 9:22).

We believe in eternal salvation through faith in Christ alone

We believe in eternal salvation through faith in Christ alone, without works or merit, solely by God's grace. (Gal. 3:26; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7; Rom. 8:35-39; 1 John 5:11-13).

Faith without works is dead!  James 2:24   Ye see that a man is justified on the principle of works, and not on the principle of faith only.

James 2:14-24

14 What [is] the profit, my brethren, if any one say he have faith, but have not works? can faith save him?

15 Now if a brother or a sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one from amongst you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled; but give not to them the needful things for the body, what [is] the profit?
17 So also faith, if it have not works, is dead by itself.
18 But some one will say, *Thou* hast faith and *I* have works. Shew me thy faith without works, and *I* from my works will shew thee my faith.
19 *Thou* believest that God is one. Thou doest well. The demons even believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and that by works faith was perfected.
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness, and he was called Friend of God.

24 Ye see that a man is justified on the principle of works, and not on the principle of faith only.
