GOD IS OUR STRONG TOWER AND OUR PROTECTION
Psalm 27:5 says "in the day of trouble [The Lord] will keep [us] safe in his dwelling." The Lord is the stronghold of our lives. He is our strength and strong tower.
Calamity may come to our lives through acts of terrorism - but God's fortress is eternally solid. And it is time that we stand together in God's fortress in faith that the Lord God will see us through.
IN GOD WE TRUST - OUR PRAYERS SAVE US
Our country is built on faith in God. It even says on our coins that we trust Him. It is time to exercise this trust in God. It is time to pray.
We must pray for our leaders: that they make the right decisions on how to deal with terrorism. We must pray for each other: for the families of the victims, that they would find God's peace in this storm.
Have you answered life's most important question and made God the stronghold of your life? Make Him your strong tower. Only then will you dwell in safety and see the peace of God reign.

THE FIRST RESPONSIBILITY OF CHRISTIANS IS TO PRAY
FOR OUR COUNTRY AND GOOD GOVERNMENT
I Timothy 2: 1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
Good government also includes peace and prosperity for the wellbeing of mankind and the preaching of the Gospel. Philippians 4: 6-7 Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God means for us to overpower evil with good. We are to pray instead of letting our hearts be troubled. God has made provision through the Messiah that we can rule over the kingdom of darkness. Jesus won the victory over Satan and has given the keys to the church to rule over the works of the devil. Jesus has put us in authority. Adam put us under the domination of Satan but Jesus gives us the victory through the anointing, the power of the Holy Spirit which indwells the believer.

TURN AWAY THE TERRORIST ATTACKS FROM AMERICA BY THE SUPERNATURAL PRAYER OF GOD'S PEOPLE
In John 16: 23 Jesus saidwhatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you." We are told in I Timothy 2: 1-4 that the first responsibility of the Christian is to pray for the government and we are told that it is necessary so that we might live quiet and peaceable lives. It is also essential to have good government so that the gospel might reach all for God wants all to be saved.
God has given us the keys to peace and prosperity. Our first obligation is to pray for good government and those in authority so that we can lead quiet and peaceable lives and so that the gospel may be preached. Jesus has given us the keys to thwart all evil. Anthrax is evil, terrorism is evil. God wants us to rule over these things and to pray that all will be saved. We pray for those in Afghanistan as well as those of the United States that they will come to know the truth about Jesus Christ and experience His saving power in this life and to have eternal life in heaven. |

WE ARE TO REIGN OVER OUR CIRCUMSTANCES
THROUGH CHRIST JESUS
Romans 5: 17 tells us that we are to reign in life as kings through Christ Jesus. WE ARE TO REIGN OVER OUR CIRCUMSTANCES and domain THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. "For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ."
Romans 8:28: "And we know that God works all things together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."
Psalm 112: 7-8 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies."
Psalm 37: 39-40 "The salvation of the righteous is of the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them: He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him."
Luke 12: 8-9 "Also I say unto you, whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God: but he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God."

DON'T WORRY, CAST YOUR CARES UPON THE LORD 1 Peter 5:7
"Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and (1 Peter 5:7, The Amplified Bible). cares about you watchfully"
Philippians 4: 6-7 Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 16:3 "Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed" |

PRAYER PUTS GOD IN CONTROL
Matthew 24: 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"
6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. . . .
Though we are hearing any of these things now, there could be any number of periods of time throughout history where people have been hearing of wars and rumors of wars. This is not something that just all of a sudden became reality on these past few days!
The same Jesus, who was Lord during every war that has ever happened, is Lord right now!
And so if -- and we know this to be true. Whenever people begin to hear of wars and rumors of wars, what's the natural tendency? To get bothered and upset! To be concerned, sometimes to move into fear, panic, etc. What did Jesus say?
6 . . .See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Verse 7 is very interesting especially in the light of what we're seeing today, in this day and age. He said,
7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. Jesus said, "See to it that you are not troubled."
Philippians 4: 6-7 Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Jesus said, "If you continue in the Word. You'll know the Truth and the truth will make you free." He said that. "His Word would be a light unto our path, it would be a lamp to our feet."
An anchor principle is that you can't draw absolute parallels between the nation of Israel and the United States of America.
There are some general principles that are universal that we can lay hold of. But some statements that Jesus made were specifically about the nation of Israel period! And you can't just take them and apply them to the United States or any other specific country. Sometimes there are some principles that are universal that can be transcendently applied. But let's look at something specific that occurred in Jesus; ministry.
LET'S TURN TO LUKE 13:1 1 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
The Galileans had come down and were in the temple offering sacrifices -- they, in essence we would say it this way today. "They had gone to church and while they were there offering sacrifices Pilate had them killed."
That's what it means when it says "whose blood Pilate mingled with their sacrifices." And listen to what Jesus says about it.
2 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
There's a popular theory that all suffering is in response to sin. That if somebody dies in a tragedy or something well they must have been a real bad sinner. And that must have been the judgment of God.
Jesus said, "No! In John chapter 9, "There was as man sitting there who was blind. And they said to Jesus, "Who did sin this man or his parents that he was born blind?" Stop and think about the question! Who did sin this man or his parents that he was born blind." Jesus responded saying that no one sinned. He brought out the fact that He has come to deliver us from the works of the devil who has gained dominance over us because of original sin. And that is exactly what He expects us to do in our world. We are to rule and reign over our circumstances and to pray for God's Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.

ATTACKS NOT GOD'S JUDGMENT ON AMERICA

LUKE 13:4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them... Jesus, here's how Jesus addressed terrorism and tragedy in His day? 4 . . . do you think that they were worse sinners than all [other] men who dwelt in Jerusalem?"
In verse 5 Jesus brings out the fact that without the Messiah all will perish. The human race became cut off from God and ruled by Satan. He was bringing out the ultimate reality that humanity is under a curse because of original sin and has become a fallen race. Therefore tragedies are happening everywhere. Unless mankind gets out of the carnal state and walks in the Spirit and is obedient to God they will perish. God has given each of us a choice and our eternal destiny is decided by each one of us individually. However, in this lifetime we live among those who are carnally minded and under control of demonic powers. Evil comes against us just as it did Job.
In John 16: 23 Jesus said whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you." We are told in I Timothy 2: 1-4 that the first responsibility of the Christian is to pray for the government and we are told that it is necessary so that we might live quiet and peaceable lives.
